Crochet a little joy into your everyday.
The making desk

Let’s make
the numbers work.

Simple tools with visible assumptions. Use your own measurements; a calculator cannot test a finished piece.

Gauge → panel

Calculate finished stitch and row counts. Add foundation chains separately.

Enter your gauge to see the planned counts.

Formula: target size × stitches or rows ÷ measured swatch size. Stitch count rounds to the nearest requested multiple (half upward). Row count rounds to a whole row. Measure a useful swatch.

Swatch → yarn

An area-based mass estimate for plain panels in the same stitch and yarn.

Weigh a representative swatch before planning a purchase.

Formula: panel area ÷ swatch area × swatch weight × (1 + allowance ÷ 100). Balls round upward. Not suitable for shaping, fringe, or a different stitch density.

US ↔ UK stitch names

This translates common names, not complete pattern instructions. All Yarnluma plans use US terms. Understand the difference.
